Oh my goodness, today we’re going to review the Freego F3 Pro dual motor dual battery full suspension electric bike. What makes this ebike stand out is it can produce over 2,000 watts of power to its all-wheel drive system. So this thing should accelerate fast and reach high speeds with excellent range—looks good on paper! But let’s open it up and see what it’s really made of.

Unboxing this bike, the first thing I noticed is how massive and heavy duty it is. The shipping box alone weighs a ton! Inside we find two huge battery packs that look like gas tanks, a burly front wheel with integrated motor and thick 4-inch knobby tread tire, a rugged steel frame with swing arm rear suspension, and an array of motorcycle-inspired components.

While the bike comes mostly pre-assembled, I did have to install the front brake rotor and tweak some fittings to get the handlebars positioned properly. A couple small hiccups, but nothing major.

Dual Battery Power

What really makes this ebike unique is its dual battery design. We get not one, but two massive 48V 20Ah lithium packs equalling 960Wh each. They feature different shapes and connectors, so not swappable. However, both deliver the same juice and range.

These babies aren’t light either—around 11-13 lbs per battery. But that hefty capacity means you can ride farther between charges. And the included dual 2A chargers make replenishing them pretty quick. Best of all, there’s a battery blender that draws current from both packs simultaneously. Sweet!

Beefy Performance

Pumping all that power are dual high output brushless hub motors. A 1000W unit integrated into the front wheel, and another 1000W motor mounted in the rear. Combined with the AWD drivetrain, you’re looking at face-melting acceleration!

There’s also full suspension with preload and rebound adjustment front and rear to smooth out rough terrain. 20 x 4 fat tires provide stability and traction. Hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors supply plenty of stopping power. And moto-inspired ergonomics like BMX handlebars and alloy pegs dial up the thrill factor.

Insane Power and Speed

Cranking the dial to max assist, pinning the throttle triggers an instant adrenaline rush as you blast off in a cloud of dust and shredded rubber! This machine absolutely destroys the 0-20 mph benchmark in under 2 seconds. And blowing past 35 mph feels like warp speed with the landscape whizzing by in a blur.

My top speed run netted a blistering 38 mph—not quite hitting the claimed 40 mph max. But at my 200 lb rider weight that’s still freaking impressive. There’s undoubtedly more velocity on tap for lighter riders. However, with great speed comes greater need for safety gear. So I highly recommend wearing a legit helmet and protective riding attire.

Agile Handling Meets Plush Suspension

Compared to bigger 26” wheeled ebikes I’ve tested, the F3 Pro’s shorter stature and snappier 20” hoops make for nimbler handling. Carving turns feels more motocross than mountain bike. Although the front does spin out easier when hammering the throttle.

And while not made for jumps and downhill shredding, the plush rear mono-shock served up a smooth ride across cracked concrete and urban obstacle courses alike. Hitting the skatepark yielded some ugly bottom-out clangs. But the ample travel insured I barely felt the harsh impacts.

Dual Motor Or Single?

Having the ability to shut off the front motor with the nitrous button provides options to extend range. In testing, one motor had no trouble propelling my hefty bulk to 20+ mph on flats. Although steep hills proved more challenging without the combined might of AWD power.

I found keeping both motors active ideal for off-road terrain. The extreme low-end torque bites aggressively in loose dirt, sand and thick grass—conquering nasty spots that leave lesser ebikes futilely spinning their wheels. But even running just rear wheel drive proved surprisingly capable on mild trails.

Insights From The Trail

  • Pedal assist delivers five distinct power bands ranging from a gentle ebike-like cadence boost, up to a balls-out moped surge thrusting you into warp drive.
  • Throttle control offers excellent precision across the spectrum—from a smooth walking pace roll, to tire annihilating wheelies.
  • Regenerative brakes feed juice back into the batteries. But beware, the excessive mass makes safely slowing from crazy velocities require planning and discipline.
  • Ergonomics like the wide MX-style bars and plusher saddle promote aggressive riding positions ideal for tackling technical maneuvers.
  • Sturdy construction and IP65 weather sealing give confidence the rugged build quality can handle real world abuse.
  • Beefy components such as the thick 180mm brake rotors and rugged swing-arm suspension inspire pushing this machine to its limits.

Any Downsides?

  • The tiny low-contrast LCD display proves nearly impossible to read in sunlight. And offers only basic speedometer, odometer and trip data.
  • No wattage or battery percentage metrics make it tricky to gauge power usage and cells’ remaining runtime.
  • Pedal assist engagement has a slight 1-2 second lag if speeds drop too low while riding.
  • Aggressive throttle and ultra-stiff suspension can make the ride harsh and jerky if you lack finesse.
  • At nearly 80 lbs, muscling this monster anywhere without power requires Herculean strength.

Range & Battery Life

While advertised estimates tout around 50 miles of range, that’s based on very conservative eco-friendly riding. My aggressive thrashing netted just under 20 miles before voltage sag started dulling performance.

But that involved primarily max speed runs, hill climbs, hauling ass on paths, and blasting full-throttle through empty fields and dunes. In real world use I’d expect most riders could easily achieve 30+ miles mixing pedal assist on flats with judicious bursts of battery boosting.

Charging the dual packs from empty will require a lengthy 12+ hours on the supplied 2A chargers. But with over 900Wh total capacity, keeping batteries topped off after typical rides proves easy overnight. Those needing to minimize downtime can invest in a high amp fast charger.

Ideal Rider And Value

With its motorcycle DNA and no holds barred performance, this menacing machine caters to hard riding thrill seekers craving raw ebike power. Its standout strengths like face melting acceleration, terrain devouring dualie suspension, and TS checks hitting velocity make it optimized for fast trail riding or serving up nasty roosts blitzing empty lots and fields.

The F3 Pro successfully fuses moped convenience with dirt devouring muscle motorcycle chops. Quickly addicting throttle response, otherworldly acceleration and slash-and-burn trail manners make it difficult to restrain one’s inner hooligan. Factor in design quirks like the dim display and lugging around its heft without power. Yet as an alternative to buying a motorcycle or ATV for hitting tricky trails, it’s downright perfection.

In fact, I’ll boldly state dollar for dollar, this dual battery, dual motor, do-it-all wheelie dealing freak machine delivers the absolute most grins-per-mile of any electric bike I’ve tested.
